Operating in support of a major Multi-National operation, with costs running at over $1Billion per week, there was a need to develop a strategy to link the planned build up in one nation's capacity to manage its own operations with a corresponding drawdown in the levels of international support.
The strategy could only be enacted over a prolonged period of years, rather than demonstrating an immediate short term outcome or benefit. It needed to provide the broad guidelines which each nation, and function within the nations, could translate to meet their own particular circumstances. It also needed to be both flexible and durable so that it would not be broken by any of the numbers of challenges to it, and could be adjusted and enhanced, over its life time.
Working in support of a small group of strategic planners it was possible to create an outline concept for the strategy and provide broad definition of the key milestones for handover to national representatives for their approval and development.
The strategy is still being enacted. For his work on this, our founder John Collicutt, received a US, and a separate UK, national commendation.
