The Cost of Underperforming Leaders

As Aston Villa part company with Martin O'Neill, as the England football community looks with suspicion and concern at Fabio Capello and rugby fans still wait for England Rugby team to look capable of taking on the best in the world, our scrutiny of sporting leaders has probably never been greater.

With their appointment, team managers and coaches understand that they have taken on responsibility for their charges in a public results driven setting. How good are their tactics, their strategy for the season, for particular parts of the games, their ability to deal with individuals.

Every season we see numbers of management teams being replaced, often too late to avoid the huge cost of failure and relegation. Games are lost as coaching teams lose their way, fail to communicate and manage a team which has started to behave as individuals.

Decisive Operations is accustomed to coaching and mentoring top leaders. That's what we do. We work with outstanding leaders to give them the edge, good leaders to make them great, and we work with failing leadership teams to turn them around, help them to pick up the points and challenge for success.

It is never too early to bring us in, and it's cost effective. Working on an as required basis we establish strong relationships with the leaders we help, building that framework of trust and mutual understanding, and help them to deal with the issues before they become problems.
